DIY Decor

September 21, 2012

DIY has become the newest and hottest trend for weddings and other similar events. DIY can be chosen by skill level, time consumption, and how intricate you want the project to be. You don’t have to be the craftiness crown in the box to create some of these beautiful additions to your big day!

This bride spray painted alternating sizes of foam balls and strung them onto a fishing line. The great part about this idea is how you can change out the color combinations and sizes of the foam balls. All of these items can be found at your local craft store for a very pleasing price! You can use this decoration as a backdrop for almost anything! Try behind your wedding cake (shown below), as a picture perfect background, or even as a ceremony garland!

Balloons are a fun way to spice any occasion up! The colors, the shapes, and the pure excitement of watching them flow in the air! Try these simple ideas on decorating your entry way or party room!

Tissue paper is colorful and free flowing.. a perfect touch to any big day. Try these tassles out for a fun addition to the chairs on the aisle.

Crepe paper is another way to add a pop of color and texture to your event. Use it behind a dessert table or the wedding cake to enhance photographs.

Find a cheap piece of wood and add some pretty ribbons to the top. Nail it to a post and write a cute saying or phrase on it for added effect. This couple decided to go with a single word, “Amore”, while other another couple put directions of the reception to theirs.

DIY is a great way to add personalization to your wedding. Create projects with bridesmaids or friends for a fun way to release stress.
